Vince Cockriel called meeting to order at 7 pm.

Clerk’s Report:
1. GHC Information Booklet
-Goodhue County updating their booklet with current board members names, emails,
addresses, and phone numbers, township website,etc.
-new this year is request for phone numbers of road maintenance
-Board decided to let this to be handled through clerk and supervisor and let township contact
road maintenance.
2. Noxious Weeds
-follow through April meeting
-MAT and DNR verified that Goodhue County does not need to do weed inspections
at this time
-map displayed which areas of state do require inspections
3. 5-Drawer Lateral Cabinets/Printer
-paperwork remains at old townhall which needs to be addressed
-Dave Garner found reasonably priced cabinets at a bidding site
-Vince Cockriel stated township job keep records secure and need to get everything out
of the old townhall.
-Upcoming GHC Hazardous Household Waste – June 2nd – John Krantz to get all items
from old townhall that need to be disposed of.
-Cabinets:
Vince Cockriel made motion to allow Dave Garner to bid up to $101.00 each for 2 or up to
$220.00 for more 5-drawer cabinets (Total allowed $220.00)

-Printer:
Township currently using an inkjet printer that uses a lot of ink.
Dave Garner monitoring a bidding site where printers sometimes become available.
Bob Benson made motion to allow Dave Garner to spend less than $100 on a Black & White
Printer

Treasurers laptop not working.
Bob Benson made motion to replace laptop with trade-in value for old one.

4. H & R Construction
-guardrails for Oxford Mill area.
-previous meeting incorrect company name referenced
-clerk to contact and set u p quote for Oxford Mill area per April meeting.
5. Highway 19/52 Bridge
-clerk contacted MNDOT project engineer Jeff Bunch
6. Clerk Work Day
-upcoming date in June to go through all files
-will schedule another day after all files brought over from old townhall.
Road Report:
Tom Kurtz and John Krantz reported:
1. Complaints Frog Creek area and 310th
-road conditions
-trees overhanging road
-clerk responded to email
-also concern regarding grading not being done immediately following dumping/laying of
gravel on roads. NO signage also.
-another complaint from daycare on 310th due to muddy roads and mud getting on vehicles
2. Chloride Application
-trying to get down before June 1st, but need rain prior to grading and chloride application
-need 2-3 days to complete grading
-Tom Krantz to schedule chloride
-No chloride by Steve Emery’s. No dead needs, no tight neighborhoods
All other roads to be done. 15 foot width except for 310th and Sciota where to
be done edge to edge.
3. Culvert Quote
-Henry’s Excavating
320th Avenue Ditch - $1,000
Oxford Mill Road Ditch - $3,395
-John Krantz to fix 42nd by cemetery as end of culvert had been bent)
Bob Benson to accept Mark Henry’s quote for amount of $4,395

-Discussion ensued
Bob Benson made motion to accept entire bid by Bill’s Blacktop plus fix small areas by
Jacobsen’s property and any other small areas that are found.
John Miller seconded motion. Motion passed 3/0.
5. Sign Inventory
-artwork compiled ay John Krantz
-inventory from maintenance shed (all new signs)

6. Diamond Mowers
-paperwork sent in for mower rental by clerk
-1-2 week notice needed when ready to go

7. Menards
-John Krantz needs PVC, joints, and glue needed for Penfield area will cost more
than $150

John Krantz to take cab card and go to Cannon Falls to get plates

9. Heavy Loads
How much to charge Ravoula and BSA?
John Krantz to figure out how much gravel dumped to repair damaged roads and
let clerk know.
Vince Cockriel made motion to accept a 50/50 split between road maintenance and damage
with a 50% grader time split between each of the areas.
Tom Kurtz to leave clerk a message on his grader time in these 2 mentioned areas.

New Business:
1.Road Management Plan
-John Miller stated he would like to split the township into 4 quarters and develop a plan for
ongoing road maintenance
-Each quarter to get full maintenance every 4 years and well-used roads to be done yearly
-John Miller to further study this and to present ideas at August meeting
2.John Krantz
-soon to have 3 pay rates upon completion of grader school
-Treasurer concerned regarding correct pay rate.
-John Krantz too write out separate time sheets for each class of pay
John Krantz to do his practice grading at the BS camp as he needs non-chlorinated roads
Vince Cockriel made motion to authorize John Krantz to practice his grading at the BS Camp as
part of his schooling to get his certification.
Bob Benson seconded the motion. Motion passed 3/0.
