-“Planning Commission 09-08-08: Mark Dubbels
made a recommendation to the town board that they grant a zoning certificate to
Joel Thorlund for a 20 X 28 addition to his house for handicap accessibility”
-“Planning Commission 10-14-08: noted that
PC fine with minor changes due to changes in need”
-Joel Thorlund requesting permission for 20
X 20 addition with a handicapped bathroom and bedroom to his house.
-Site plan originally shown to the Planning
Commission with all set-backs met (site plan not with daughter and will be
needed again for county permit)
-Estimated cost at $40,000 with permit cost
at $130

Moving money from bond savings to checking to cover payments to county.
Currently only $8000 cash available in Road & Bridge with $20,000 due. Township investments of $25,000 comes due in January; by waiting until 10-29-2008 to take out there will be no loss in moving monies over. Zeigler net 30 days, so payment next week is acceptable for payment.
Dave Garner made recommendation to wait until 10-29-2008 to pay Zeigler.

Road Report:
John Krantz reported:
1. Mower:
-in bad shape, in need of service
-oil blowing out seals and wear plates are worn
-John Deere mower on back of International Tractor
-John K to call John Deere to check into winter service
-possible to load mower on the back of a trailer and bring in for service
2. DOT Inspection
-get truck to John Welt to do DOT inspection as soon as able
-to be done
before it snows (expires end of November)
-To also do general service on truck
at same time
-Truck cleaned and power washed earlier by John Krantz
-OK to do minor repair, etc at John Krantz’s house
3. Grader School
-John Krantz brought in info for the University of Minnesota, $250 for next spring
-Concern over additional costs associated with the training
-John stated that he would be happy to take care of his own travel expenses
-John Krantz to complete registration form and mail it in
-Info to be filed with other Grader School Materials

-pot holes on inside of some corners
-John Krantz to fill holes with buckets of rock left at old town hall
-Oxford Mill and 40th both need some attention
6. Trim – Mark Henry
-Mark Henry from Castle Rock Twp renting a side boom to trim/clean up all culverts
-offering Stanton to share costs of rental ($50/week plus fuel)
-Castle Rock need for 2 days of the 5 day rental
-Yes, Stanton interested
-John Krantz to contact Mark Henry to set up
-Great time savings and many culverts in need of further trimming (ie: Oxford Mill, 40th, etc)
7. Carl Slifka
-twp will not be paving the 20-30 ft section of road
-Bucketful of gravel is needed to help with the bump
-Gravel will be put down next spring when all roads are done
-To be graded by twp in future
8. Dust Control
-to be done after next grading
-have chloride put down on Sciota Trail and 2nd Avenue, then billed to Tree Farm
-Dave McKeag would like another coat put on due to hauling manure (about 150 ft on 330th St)
needed to protect road.
-Dave Garner to let clerk know when roads are done with grading so that chloride can be ordered

-12 year agreement with Cannon Falls, plan to be reviewed every 3 years
-development around new interchange
-development mostly east of the Little Cannon River
-NO forced annexation

-voted to change alignment of 24 through Stanton Twp to the north

Old Business:
1. Brody Skahen-
-clerk in communication with GHC regarding Brody
-Both Brody and his father have written plans submitted to the county
-Jason (Dept of Environmental Health) case manager
-90% of the drums gone and remainder (12 or so) labeled vegetable oil
-all batteries are now on hard surfaces and next step is to decrease quantities
-Plan of Action in place and GHC content as long as forward motion is made
-Vehicles ultimately have to be gotten rid of
-Building department notified and will be following through with another visit
-Jason promised to stay in touch with township
2. Wm Nelson
-Wm Nelson property has been purchased and he has money waiting for him
at the sheriff’s office
-purchaser cannot take possession for one years time.

-non-profit so no charge
